Abusing Grace

Romans 6:1-2
(1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

To be an effective witness we need to allow the Spirit of God to have his way so that we do not abuse the grace given to us by God.

Every word, action and cut-eye communicates the Spirit that rules in us. So we must keep in mind (meditate) each day the words of the scripture that tells us to let our words be seasoned with salt. Too much salt and too little salt are equally bad.

To understand how not to abuse the grace by sinning willfully, we must understand what is sin in God’s eyes. Here is what the apostle James says:

James 4:17 (read the whole chapter)
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Prayer: Father, forgive me for not being obedient to the Word you’ve given me. I recommit to seek you and change my ways and follow your will. Please do not take your Holy Spirit from me, but lead me in the path of righteousness. Search me and if there is anything in me that you are not pleased with, reveal it to me. I bow before your throne of grace once again and ask for your forgiveness. Amen.
